(Japanese origins)
Usui Reiki is a gentle, Japanese wellbeing practice developed by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. It is a calm, meditative approach that supports deep relaxation, emotional settling, and reconnection with the body.
During a Reiki session, the practitioner uses light touch or hands positioned just above the body to create a quiet, supportive space. Many people experience a sense of warmth, ease, or deep rest, allowing the nervous system to slow and the body to move into a more relaxed state.
Reiki is often described in traditional teachings as working with “life force energy.”
In modern practice, it can also be understood as a deeply calming, presence-based session that supports stress reduction, emotional regulation, and overall wellbeing.
Reiki offers an opportunity to pause, rest, and gently tune in to how your body and emotions are responding in the moment. This state of relaxation can support the body’s natural ability to settle and restore balance.
People often report feeling calmer, more grounded, and more centred after a session.
Are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or run down
Want a gentle, non-invasive wellbeing session
Are seeking deep relaxation and time out from daily demands
Would like to feel more connected to your body and inner awareness
Usui Reiki is the original, foundational Reiki system. Sessions are offered as a supportive wellbeing practice and are suitable for people from a wide range of backgrounds — whether spiritual, curious, or simply looking for a calming experience.
(Egyptian origins)
Seichim Reiki (pronounced “Say-kim”) is a gentle, heart-centred wellbeing practice that emphasises softness, compassion, and emotional presence. It is often offered as a complementary style alongside Usui Reiki, with a slower and more intuitive flow.
Seichim sessions focus on creating a nurturing, supportive space where the body and nervous system can settle. The practitioner uses light touch or hands held just above the body, allowing clients to experience deep relaxation, emotional easing, and a sense of being held in a calm, non-judgemental environment.
In traditional spiritual teachings, Seichim is described using language such as “divine feminine” or “heart energy.” In contemporary practice, it can also be understood as a deeply soothing, presence-based session that supports emotional regulation, self-compassion, and inner reflection.
Many people experience Seichim as particularly supportive during times of emotional stress, grief, personal transition, or when they are seeking a gentler approach to wellbeing. Sessions invite stillness, self-awareness, and a reconnection with one’s inner emotional landscape.
Clients often describe the experience as calming, nurturing, and emotionally supportive.
