What is a Sound Bath?
My sound baths are a deeply immersive, meditative experience where participants experience soothing sounds and gentle vibrations.
Instruments such as singing bowls, chimes, tuning forks, voice, ocean drum,, and/or rain stick, may be used.
The session encourages the body and mind to slow down, relax, and enter a state of calm. Many participants find that the combination of sound and guided focus helps reduce stress, ease tension, and support overall wellbeing.
Unlike a traditional meditation practice, where silence or guided visualisation is the focus, a sound bath allows the frequencies of the instruments to guide the experience, making it accessible even for those who may find conventional meditation challenging.
Sound has been used for thousands of years to support relaxation, focus, and emotional presence. Tibetan and Himalayan singing bowls have long been used in meditative and spiritual practices, while Indigenous cultures worldwide have incorporated drumming, chanting, and music as part of ceremonies promoting connection and reflection. Even in Ancient Greece, music was explored for its ability to influence mood and focus.
Modern sound therapy draws inspiration from these traditions while recognising scientific findings about how sound and rhythm can influence brainwaves, focus, and nervous system regulation.
The sound baths I offer are designed to create a safe, supportive space for relaxation, reflection, and self-awareness. Each session includes a guided meditation tailored to a chosen theme, helping participants set intentions and connect with themselves in a calm and present way.
